# envs

## Function

Read system environment objects, or read system functions, standard library constructors, and system constants by name.

## Syntax

```bt
envs(name)
```

## Parameters

| Parameters | Type | Required | Default value | Description |

| name | String | No | None | The name of a system function, library constructor, or system constant. |

## Return value

| Type | Description |
| ------ | ------ |
| Object/Fn/Any/Empty | Returns the system environment object without parameters; returns the corresponding value if the name is hit; returns Empty if the name is not hit. |

## Example

```bt
result = envs('fs')

// Output: Fn
echo(type(result))
```

## Notes

- System environment objects are built on demand and are not written to the user global variable table.
