# process.inherit_stdio

## Function

Let the child process inherit the current process stdio.

## Syntax

```bt
process(program).inherit_stdio()
```

## Parameters

No parameters.

## Return value

| Process | Returns the new process builder. |

## Example

```bt
cmd = process('cmd').inherit_stdio()
result = type(cmd)

// Output: Process
print result
```

## Notes

- Will override the null_stdio setting.
- Will turn off the default window_hidden behavior, allowing the child process to inherit the current process stdio, suitable for programs in the CLI that require direct user interaction.
- When a desktop app needs to run in the background and read stdout/stderr, do not call inherit_stdio(), keep the default behavior or call window_hidden() explicitly.
